Books by Emma McLaughlin. I gave it two stars because atleast the book was moving along and the format changing back and forth from high school to adult life was interesting. The F bomb is dropped more than several times, there are quite a few crude moments, and to be honest when I was finishing up the last hundred pages or so, I couldn’t wait to be done with it.
Dedication — Emma McLaughlin & Nicola Kraus
Published June 5th by Atria first published This comes from the same authors who produced ‘The Nanny Diaries,’ and I was really hoping that this book would capture the same light, witty charm the earlier book did. Dedication is a poignant, humorous tale about modern celebrity obsession and coming of age during the divorce boom.
I really loved the characters, and how the author humanized them in a way that was at once recognizable and painful I really liked this book. Dedication 1 5 Jul 04, I’m such a bookjacket whore, I get sucked in by a well written synopsis.
And the hits kept coming, each more personal than the one before. Even at the age where true youth is in the rear view mirror—or perhaps especially because I’m at that age—I really enjoyed it.

You can detest Jake and still feel sorry for him; you can be frustrated with Kate for not moving on and still understand her obsessive need for closure. Sep kraue, M rated it liked it. When she sees him, will she be able to give him the satisfying cut-down that he so rightfully deserves?

It’s a nice break from the more “serious” books I read, and it kind of resets me. I never thought I could actually hate a book. Romance, heartbreak, friendship, family.
Didn’t really redeem the rest of the book, because she goes back to him before she dedicatiom him to go screw himself figuratively. Kate Hollis has had to live with Jake’s songs for years–they’re number one hits, and they’re all about her and their high school romance.
mclauhhlin Being cocky and everything, jeez, that’s what a fangirl all about or maybe I’m wrong. This one is about a girl whose high school sweetheart turns into a major rock star and returns to her hometown to try to rekindle their romance – can we say cliche?!
I liked how it shows that some relationships can be romantic, while some can be destructive. Such a good story.

Toward the end, it almost felt like the authors’ editors had said, “You’ve got to wrap this up, so get it moving along,” which was unfortunate because Mcalughlin would have preferred a more emotionally well-rounded ending. McLaughin and Kraus explore that mission in detail here, but this book is less about revenge than understanding the complex history that has formed the present moment. Aug 29, Kerri rated it liked it.
There were times I found myself wanting to hit the narrator– her high school boyfriend has become a big rock star, by writing songs about he I got mclaugulin as a clearance book at Books a Million. It focuses more on Katie’s determination xedication show that she was moving on, and has learnt to move on from a juvenile romance that was volatile from the start.
It only took me a month and a half to read this book? They finally become a couple in high school – each other’s first true loves. Turns out that Jake has never gotten over her either, and kras rekindling of their romance feels like fate, with Jake trying to make up for lost time.
